Our Journey
Fluid Medical is led by Chris Geisler, a biochemist, film stunt rigger and co-founder of TeraSpan Networks Inc. that revolutionized fiber optic cable technology for digital networks under the ocean. Chris has worked closely with leading directors and actors, then co-founded Whitecap RSC Medical Inc., the first team in Canada to help restart the Canadian film industry with testing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Throughout western Canada, Whitecap played a crucial role in keeping big industry operational through the pandemic as tens of thousands of workers traveled to site from across Canada. Their team implemented a series of first Canadian software technologies to manage large-scale screenings for over 300,000 people. The Whitecap team used technology to empower people, acting as a vital link between government, private sectors, and the general public.
The core of the Whitecap team became Fluid Medical Ltd, and are now addressing the challenges of primary health care accessibility, fundamentally a data sharing problem. Fluid is focused on making patients’ health data readily available to ensure patients can access informed health services. They are a collaborative team guided by experts to enhance healthcare services. Recently having engaged with Indigenous communities in both the US and Canada, the team has recognized the societal need for cultural protection. Fluid has turned their security model for health data to providing a layered & privacy respecting approach to the sharing of cultural histories (video, audio & written).
